We TURN what kids love into what the world needs

When kids have purpose, everything is possible. For their futures. For their communities. For their world. The Civic Leadership Foundation is a project-based, educational program that empowers kids to turn the things they care about into civic and social change. Growing their own self-confidence while planting seeds in their communities and proving that real change can start with them.

A systematic approach to growing leaders

Keeping kids engaged and headed towards a bright future is a seemingly never-ending challenge for teachers and parents everywhere. CLF’s program has been developed to let the passion already within kids fuel their educational and emotional growth. We do this through:

Project-based approach
We use in-class learning to find real solutions to the problems kids see in the world.

Social-emotional learning
Developing valuable skills that will benefit them in every walk of life.

Civic engagement
Connecting student projects to what matters to them and their communities makes it personal, relatable and real.

Designed to make a difference

For almost 20 years, we have developed the CLF program to challenge kids while reducing the challenges facilitators face in teaching them. We provide all the tools our partners need from step-by-step lesson plans and regular staff check-ins to guest speaker coordination and financial assistance. Because we believe supporting young people starts with supporting our partners.

CLF teaches us that we have the potential to work together
and that if we do, we can go higher than what’s been achieved.”

“What sets CLF apart is the community engagement.
It allows kids to see that they can make their world better.”

It takes a village

Through CLF, kids learn to think independently. But they can’t do it alone. It’s through the help of individual donations and corporate gifts that we can provide kids, teachers, schools and organizations the support to continue turning passion into purpose.
