Mayor Biss provides invaluable perspective and expertise as a civic leader and community organizer to the CLF board, helping to show the power of civic engagement. Since May 2021, he has served as the mayor of Evanston, IL. His career as a mayor, state senator and representative and a community organizer has been marked by a strong commitment to public engagement, political reform and clean funding of elections. Prior to his career in public service, Daniel was a professor of mathematics at the University of Chicago. He holds a Bachelors degree from Harvard and a Masters and Ph.D. from MIT.
