Ald. Angela Clay Visits CLF Youth

Ald. Angela Clay with CLF Youth

Last week, CLF youth at Skinner North Classical School had the opportunity to hear from Alderwoman Angela Clay, who joined students to share her journey into public service and her work representing the 46th Ward.

Ald. Clay shared that her path to public office began with a deep connection to her neighborhood. Having grown up in the ward - and with her family living there for more than 80 years - she spoke about how witnessing the challenges and strengths of her community inspired her to step forward and run for office.

During the conversation, she helped students better understand complex issues shaping cities today, including housing insecurity and the importance of affordable housing. She emphasized that the buildings and developments we choose to invest in today ultimately shape the future of our communities.

Ald. Clay also reminded students that leadership does not begin with experience alone. She emphasized that real power often comes from the support of a community and the willingness to step forward. With both heart and thoughtful action, she encouraged students to think about the impact they want to leave on their communities and the role they can play in shaping the future.

We’re incredibly grateful to Ald. Angela Clay for taking the time to connect with and inspire our youth through her story and leadership.
