Charles Hardwick has been a leading advocate for prison reentry and workforce development since 2002. As a member of the CLF board, Charles lends a critical voice to underserved communities in the Chicago area. He began his career in the non-profit sector as a Placement Specialist, later becoming Case Manager and Manager of the Employment Resource Center at Howard Area Community Center. As Director of the Community Support Advisory Council North, he built a coalition of community stakeholders to support reentry efforts on Chicago's North Side. Hardwick has strengthened partnerships with the Illinois Department of Corrections, Cook County Jail, and other local agencies. He also serves on the board of Counseling First and facilitates his job-readiness workshop, Fresh Start.
